it's been a busy month and a half...

soooo i know it's been a while, but i never know if people look at this thing or not, no one ever says much ahahha... but here is a little update!  :)

things are going well!!  switzerland has turned into fall/early winter weather, which means tons of rain, low-lying clouds and fog and some hints of frost and ice in the morning which later thaws once the sun is up.  today was my day off (i have fridays to regroup, i'm supposed to study french but it never happens hahaa) but it rained like crazy!!  i couldn't even walk to the new gym that we got memberships at, because there's really no footpath besides the road, and it was just pouring outside, too much for a 20 min walk!  but other than that it's not too bad, just makes the days a little longer sometimes.

work is good - i have finished one little presentation and i have moved onto the one that i will potentially be working on for the next 2 years or so!!!  it's the most exclusive private residence in switzerland, currently under construction as a historic renovation, and we've already been on site and have tons to do in too little of time.  the place is called residence du parc and it's been lavishly designed with such crazy and expensive interiors that only people like eva longoria can afford it.  no seriously, eva longoria can afford it, she actually bought one.  i don't know which one though... i keep looking for "APT EVA" on the plans but i can't find it yet...  ahhaha...  the cost of these places (1-2br apartments mostly) are about 5 million swiss francs each.  and increase from there...  yeah...  but otherwise it's going well, iacopo has a ton of different things going on including a building for porsche and volkswagen here in geneva, and it's nice that we get to see each other even at lunch every day.  not many couples have that luxury so we're pretty happy.

hmmm what else... we've had some nice dinners with friends, before and after our friends francesco and giovanna went on a big trip to malaysia, and next week will be just as exciting  as we go to lausanne one night for some fondue with an ex-colleague who is departing on a big trip through thailand and india, and then my friend juli is coming from austria to stay for the weekend!!!!!  i can't wait!!!!!!  and to get ready, we managed to finish the house by getting a nice couch that turns into a bed from ikea last night!  i'm sitting on it right now :)  it's quite nice!

we went to italy twice for a couple of weekends, and although it's always nice to be back, the weather has been pretty much crap... unfortunately this would be the FOG season of piemonte, and seriously you can't even see 3' past the front of your car!!  it makes me so tired, it's like you're dreaming all day or something because you can't see anything ahhaha... but it's always nice to go back and have amazing food for super cheap, and enjoy a few glasses of wine with iacopo's friends.  ahhhhh i love italy...

it looks like christmas will be back in MN this year, unlike what we had planned, but it'll be really nice to be home again!!  i need to buy some more shampoo hahahah...  and i miss the dog!!!  the stinker!!!  it's funny though, she comes up in a lot of conversations around here... me and iacopo are pretty good at imitating her most annoying moments hahaha!!

french lessons i have decided kind of suck... and i'm just not a huge fan of the language.  blah.  i'm trying, and i can recognize phrases and understand parts of sentences, so i suppose that is progress???  maybe eventually i'll be quad-lingual since i'm on the path with english, spanish, italian, and now french...  if only i could actually get super fluent in any of the last 3, and keep practicing them, it would be great!!  but since they come and go at different moments it's hard to keep it all straight.  i end up speaking a mix of all 3 and say sentences like "yo quiero andare al palestra ce soir" or some crap like that.  ok not that bad, but you get the idea.

ok well it's a friday and we are going to get some chinese in ferney-voltaire, france!  we spend a lot of time over there since we are by the border... it's a nice little town!  i'll have to put some photos up a little later, i don't have them on the computer yet... ok, have a nice night!  ciao!
